Deep throat flocked swab is made by innovative jet-implanted nylon fiber technology maximizes sampling swab sampling efficiency, with nylon fiber adhering vertically and uniformly to the surface of the swab head, greatly increasing the efficiency of collection and release of cellular and viral samples, improving analytical sensitivity, leaving no specimen residue and speeding up the specimen handling process.

Designed for Oropharyngeal clinical diagnostics, it utilizes state of the art “spray on technology” whereby the flocking process, by means of electro-static charge, perpendicularly attaches millions of nylon microfibers on the medical grade flock tip. Ideal for collecting large amounts of cells and instant and thorough elution into the transport medium. A specially designed plastic shaft supports the flocked tip, ensuring the highest strength and flexibility. The shaft can also be provided with a breaking point for a smooth release of the tip inside the tube after specimen collection.

The flocking swab consists of a solid molded plastic applicator rod, the size and shape of which can be changed. The top of the applicator is coated with short nylon fibers, which are arranged vertically. this vertical arrangement is generated by a process called flocking in which the fibers are sprayed on the tip of the swab while remaining in the electrostatic field. This method produces a high absorption thin layer with open structure.
